The opening ceremony was vibrant with the presence of Mr.Arun Devkar ACP, Anti Corruption Bureau, as chief guest. The honorable Chairman Shri. Nitin Ingawale-Deshmukh and Principal Mr. George P S graced the occasion. The Principal introduced the chief guest to the gathering. The impressive March Past, rhythm of bands, the torch relay escorted by horse mounted students of GFS and pleasant weather were the perfect boost for the students. The chief guest in his speech stressed about the importance of sports for all round development. Students actively participated in the sports events during the sports meet with spirit and zeal.
The closing ceremony was flamboyant with the presence of Prof. Ramdas Zol, Founder and President of Dattakala Group of Institutes. The winners received the medals and certificates from honorable Chief guest, Chairman, Principal and Administrative officer. Finally the best athletes were declared in three different categories sub-juniors, juniors and seniors and awarded for their achievements. This year the Daffodils house bagged the Vijay Trophy for overall performance. With the co-operation of all the teaching, non-teaching staff the sports meet was a grand success and added memories indelible to all at GFS family.
The Greenfingers School, Akluj successfully conducted the Rally for Rivers as sponsored by Services Wives Association (SWA) an NGO to highlight the importance of conserving the River water for the future. The true spirit of enthusiasm and social commitment was exhibited by all the students and staff of GFS by ensuring the participation in the Rally and other activities.
The GreenFingers School celebrated our Nation’s 71st Independence Day with much fervour and gaiety. The programme commenced exactly at 9 a.m, anchored by the two girls Tanisha Harishchandra Sawant - Patil and Pranali Vasant Jare, giving a brief description about the importance of the day and paying respect and homage to our great leaders who have sacrificed their lives for our country.
We were honoured to have the Chief Guest, Lt Gen (Dr) S D Duhan, AVSM, VSM (Retd) and other dignitaries like Shri Ranjitsinh Mohite Patil, Sau Satyaprabhadevi Mohite Patil, Shri Nitin Ingawale- Deshmukh, and Shri Sanjay Rakale.
The NCC Cadets on horse took our Chief Guest around the campus followed by the hoisting of the flag to inculcate the feelings of patriotism and service to the society. There was a wonderful display of parade led by the NCC cadets and senior students. Our chief guest reviewed the dazzling display of March past, a lovely view of synchronisation by the students. Our Principal, Lt.Col.RamaKrishnan felicitated the Chief guest and other dignitaries. We had the launching of our school magazine ,”Inspire”2016-2017 and Mr.Joshy KS, Academic Incharge, gave us a glimpse of what would be the magazine about. There followed an assemblage of events ranging from patriotic songs to dances.The melodious song“Bharat.…Hamaari…Maa..hei was so harmonious and beautiful and “gave a great tribute to our mother nation. The programme was again coloured with few patriotic songs and dances. The story of Ram Leela which was depicted through an acrobatic performance of yoga was really the highlight of the day. The student achievers of 2016-2017 were announced by Mr.Lijeesh sir and they were honoured by giving certificates and trophies.
Later Our Chief Guest delivered an illuminating speech with words of prudence emphasizing how we are indebted to out great leaders who have struggled hard and how we are lucky to have the freedom, how he as a soldier served the country . He also urged not to forget those great leaders and the importance of living as a unit despite all our religious and social disparities. The school captain Mr. Shubraj Bedge expressed the vote of thanks to the Chief guest and other dignitaries , Our beloved Principal teachers ,non teaching staffs and also to the parents who were present at this colourful event.
Lastly, we all stood up for the national song ”Vande Mataram” keeping in mind and taking the pledge that we will all remain united as free citizens having great respect and love for our mother land and will strive towards the progress and prosperity of the nation.
Our School has been recognized for Best Green Practices in the GSP Audit conducted by "The Centre for Science and Environment" New Delhi, India's Leading Environmental NGO during the year 2016 - 17.
The 41st Annual Social Day of The Greenfingers School, Akluj has been celebrated on a grand scale with all vigour and colour. The brightly illuminated sprawling campus welcomed a massive gathering of more than 2000 who thronged the Open Air Theatre to grace the occasion. Dr. Dhananjay B Kadam, IRS, (Asst. Commissioner of Customs and Central Excise, Ratnagiri) who was also the Batch Topper of SSC 2001 at our school boosted the energy and hope of our students, by being the Chief Guest of the day. His special message went on to emphasize on more competitive spirit in the minds of children beginning with the unique formation he got, through the distinct education at The Greenfingers. The event was blessed with the august presence of Hon. Ranjitsinh V. Mohite Patil, Chairman; Hon. Satyaprabhadevi R. Mohite Patil, Hon. Nitin M. Ingawale Deshmukh, Hon.Vikramsinh D. Mane Deshmukh, Hon.Sanjay Rakale and Dr. Manohar K. Inamdar.
The Annual Academic Trophy in the name of our Founder-Principal Late N. L. Khanolkar was due for the House of Daffodils. The cultural programmes were enchanting and enthralling .The event came as one among the curtain raisers for the Birth Centenary Celebrations of our Founder Sahakar Maharshi Late Shankarraoji Mohite Patil, the Man of Vision.
The 7th State Level Equestrian Championship organized by the Digvijay Prathishthan, has been an excellent platform for every champ and future champions of GFS to exhibit their skilful jobs enhanced by their equestrian trainer Subhedar Major Shri. Krushnadeo Bhimrao Suryawanshi (Retd.)
The school has successfully achieved 57 medals consisting of 24 Gold, 20 Silver and 13 Bronze medals. The most in-form and record-breaker Mst.Aniket Hanumant Salunkhe, the victor of 11 Golds, 3 Silver and 2 Bronze and cash award of Rs.5000 has been entitled "The Champion of Champions of the Championship".
The achievements of Mst. Harshwardhan Nakate, Mst.Mangesh Deshmukh, Mst.Vinayak Karnawar, Mst.Amar Kharade, Mst.Amit Jare, Mst.Sourabh Bhosale, Mst.Mayur Pandhare, the Thorat brothers Rohit and Rohan have paved a way for the victory of our school.

The 35th Annual Sports & Athletics Meet was held at The Greenfingers School, Akluj on 16th and 17th of December, 2016. Torch lighted from the Samadhi of Sahakar Maharshi Late Shankarraoji Mohite Patil, Our Legendary Founder, has been escorted up to the School Ground by the boys and girls of Std X, whose leader - Mst. Sopan Dada Mane handed it over to the Chief Guest Dr. Vidyut Shah who in turn hoisted the School flag when the respective House Masters and Mistresses unfurled their House flags to mark the beginning of 35th Annual Sports Meet of the GFS. The disciplined and dynamic March Past by the students of our four houses was headed by Mst. Keshav Popat Makar, the Parade Commander. The School Captain, Ms. Nutan Suryakant Patil delivered the Sportsmen's pledge. The members of the Governing Council Hon'ble Smt. Satyaprabhadevi Ranjitsinh Mohite Patil, Hon'ble Shri. Nitin Ingawale Deshmukh, Hon'ble Shri. Shivdas Shinde and the Principal Lt Col CP Ramakrishnan graced the occasion.
100 M Sprint (Senior and Junior categories) was the inaugural event of the Meet. Since then, Thirty Six hours of immense guts, fitness and spirit engulfed The Greenfingers and her premises, when our kids competed among themselves in almost more than 36 events. The tough competition that prevailed among Aster (the existing champions), Bluebells, Chrysanthemum and Daffodils Houses was fantastic and enthusiastic. The concerted efforts of the faculty especially, those of the Physical Education Department are highly appreciated.
The Valedictory Ceremony on 17th Dec, 2016 was much glorious and unforgettable since everybody was eagerly waiting for the Ever-rolling Championship Trophy instituted by Shri. Vijaysinh Shankarrao Mohite - Patil, the President of our Governing Council for the leading house. The closing ceremony presided over by Shri. Vijay Baliram Yadav, API, Velapur had special athletic events by Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior students along with the competition for Academic and Non Academic Staff of all cadres .The special message delivered by the Chief guest was heartily encouraging and powerfully motivating. Special congratulations to House of Daffodils for the Overall Athletic Championship. Appreciation to Mst. Prathamesh Birajdar (Blue Bells), Ms. Ashwini Bagal (Daffodils), Mst. Shivtej Shendage (Aster) and Ms. Ruchika Gosavi (Aster) for being selected the Best Athletes of the Meet.

Monday, 20th of June, 2016 will ever remain as a day of significance in the history of The Greenfingers School. For the first time since inception in 1975, a girl child has been installed as the SCHOOL CAPTAIN. The moment when the Principal conferred the authoritative band of Captain on Ms. NUTAN PATIL of Std. X, the enthusiasm and excitement of the Students were remarkable. Along with her, the other nine Students’ Council Members have also taken their oath which was pronounced to them by the Principal in the First Assembly of the Academic Year 2016-17.
The vision of the Hon’ble Chairman and the Trustees of the Governing Council to confer Captaincy on a girl child was applauded in the special message of the Principal after the oath-taking ceremony. The Vice-Captain expressed his belief and confidence to make The Greenfingers a more enlightened space for learning and also inspired the children with Cheers To Greenfingers in his speech.
The 35th Batch of The Greenfingers School has added another feather on to the crown of this prestigious institution when the much awaited SSC 2016 results were declared. With all the students scoring more than 50%, with 50% students scoring more than 80%, with a grand 100% result The Greenfingers Students rocked once again.
